Basement Waterproofing in Hyderabad

Basements and underground parking levels are under constant hydrostatic pressure from groundwater pushing in from outside, which is a fundamentally different problem than a terrace or wall facing rain from above. Treating a basement means addressing both the visible seepage points and the pressure driving the water through the concrete in the first place, which is why we assess drainage as carefully as the waterproofing coating itself.

Basement Waterproofing in Hyderabad
Materials Used

CICO crystalline compounds, Fosroc Nitoseal, Sika injection resins

Common Causes We See in Hyderabad

  • Hydrostatic pressure from the water table pushing groundwater through the concrete
  • Construction joints and expansion joints that were not sealed during the original build
  • Cracks in the basement slab or retaining walls formed after construction settling
  • Inadequate or blocked external drainage around the foundation
  • Rising damp through the foundation where no damp-proof membrane was installed originally

Our Process

  1. 1 Hydrostatic pressure assessment and drainage mapping
  2. 2 Surface preparation and crack injection grouting
  3. 3 Application of crystalline or polyurethane membrane system
  4. 4 Drainage board installation where required
  5. 5 Final inspection with moisture meter readings

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between positive-side and negative-side waterproofing?

Positive-side treatment is applied to the outer (soil-facing) side of the wall and is more effective but only possible during construction or excavation. Negative-side treatment is applied from inside the basement and is the practical option for existing buildings.

Can this be done while the basement is in use?

For parking levels and storage basements, yes — we can typically section off and treat areas without shutting down the whole space, though active leaks need to be addressed first.

Will this work for commercial/parking basements too?

Yes, we’ve treated basements for both residential buildings and commercial properties including parking levels, where the larger surface area needs a phased approach.

How do you know if it’s a drainage problem vs. a waterproofing problem?

During inspection we check whether water is entering through visible cracks/joints (waterproofing issue) or pooling due to poor external drainage (drainage issue) — often it’s both, and treating only one won’t fully solve it.
